Extra Events
Thursday, June 12: Weapons Class (bo, tunfa, sai, nunchaku), Blue belts and higher, 6-7pm
Friday, June 13: OPEN GYM, 6-8pm, $5
Saturday, June 14: Advanced Training (see schedule below)
Mon-Fri June 16-20: Karate Kamp #3, 9am – 3pm (only a few spots left)
Thursday. June 19: Weapons Class (Bo), yellow Belts and Higher, 6-7pm
Friday, June 20: OPEN GYM, 6-8pm, $5
Mon-Fri June 23-27: Karate Kamp #4, 9am – 3pm (only a few spots left)
Wednesday, June 25: Teen Intermediates need to attend today’s 7:00 or 8:00pm class, No Teen class (7-8) tomorrow.
Thursday, June 26: Monthly Belt Test, 6-8pm, testing by invitation, spectators welcome (teens will make up on Wednesday)
Friday, June 27: OPEN GYM, 6-8pm, $5
Thursday, July 3: Weapons Class (bo, tunfa, sai, nunchaku), Blue belts and higher, 6-7pm
Friday, July 4: CLOSED, have a safe holiday.
Black Belt / Brown Belt Workout.
This Saturday, June 14th: Noon - 1pm Free
Advanced stances, techniques. Wrist locks, throws and ground fighting if time permits.
All brown and black belts are encouraged to attend. If you will not be able to attend please let sensei know.
Weapons Class, blue belts and higher
This Saturday, June 14th: 1pm - 2:30pm Cost: $5
Mr. Dan Rupert, from the Heilman Dojo in Reading, PA, will be at our dojo this Saturday to work various weapons techniques and forms including Bo, Tunfa, Sai, Nunchaku, and Tekkos.

“Helping a father in our communit”
Dave Coleman, husband of Debbie Coleman and father of Patrick, 9, Katelynn, 8, and Brendan, 4, recently was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer. Dave and Debbie are residents of Quail Creek and former CCD teachers at Our Lady of the Lake. Dave is a fighter and is in the battle for him life. We ask our community to help them out with medical expenses and related expenses in this fight!

World Karate Tournament
July 10th – 13th: New Orleans, Hilton Riverside Hotel
*** Headquarters will allow us to register here at the dojo through Tuesday, July 8th (cash only). All Students registered by July 8th will receive a FREE ticket to the Sunday Finals and be bracketed in the bottom half of the Forms Elimination.
Schedule of events
Thursday, July 10th 3:00pm, Continuous sparring competition ,same rules as our regular sparring but no stopping between points. A fun division since this is exactly how we spar in class.
Friday, July 11th 10:00am, Koshiki Kumite
1:00 pm, Weapons competition
2:30 pm, Team Sparring competition, Chanbara (foam Samurai Sword)
Saturday, July 12th 9:00am, Forms competition and Team (3 person) Forms competition (GO FOR IT !!)
6:30pm, National & State awards (Bushido Awards Banquet)
The Nation’s top 10 competitors as well as Louisiana’s top 3 competitors will be recognized for this past seasons achievements. The Nation’s top 3 will be honored with custom, personalized awards, top 10 will receive personalized certificates. The Louisiana State Point Champion will be honored with a custom, personalized plaque, top 3 will receive a State Champion or runner-up award at this National Awards Banquet, Saturday, July 12th in the Napoleon Ballroom at the Hilton Hotel in New Orleans. Some of our Mandeville students will be recognized during this event, as well as Joe Dupaquier being named one of the top instructors in the nation. I would hope that everyone will plan on attending this monumental evening. Please dress nice for this event.
